Drop in to discover who lived in your house or shop 100 years ago – or more – before WW1. Volunteers from Mill Road History Society and Historyworks will help you work on ‘free to use’ software, including census data, trade and street directories. We will give you a ‘How to’ sheet of information to take home for further research. It may be possible to develop this into a Blue Plaque project some time in the future!
You can also browse through historic photographs, maps, reports and history sheets about places on Mill Road, and there will be a street quiz and trail for those who want to explore the road on foot. The photograph here is the Petersfield end of Mill Road c.1906, courtesy of the Cambridgeshire Collection, Central Library.

The Cantab Millenium shop is easy to find on Mill Road, close to the traffic lights at the top of Gwydir Street. There will also be other History Happening events and activities inside & outside the Bath House on the same day, and tours in the cemetery. See https://www.millroadsummer.org/whats-on/ for details.
